AEC ARE ON TARGET TO IMPROVE ENERGY EFFICIENCY BY 23% FOR WANDSWORTH COUNCIL UNDER THE EEC SCHEME.
Controls specialists AEC are looking to deliver an aggregated 23% savings on energy consumption across six of Wandsworth Council’s district hearting systems using their suite of analytical energy controls optimisation tools.
The project was 100% funded by EDF Energy through the Energy Efficiency Commitment (EEC) scheme for which AEC’s technology has recently been approved. AEC’s technology has been recognised for its ability to identify previously unidentified improvements in technique to save energy at specific sites.
During the works AEC also identified a number of hydraulic issues at the sites which were resolved by working with Seaflame, the councils maintenance contractors. The overall result is a much improved service delivery as well as lower fuel bills for the Council and their residents.
Total C02 reductions are in the region of 520 tonnes per annum for the six sites.
Julian Miller, Director of AEC said; “The results achieved at Wandsworth are a great start and that AEC were looking forward to rolling out the programme elsewhere in the Borough. The EEC programme is a genuine win-win situation where the benefits of reduced energy consumption and emissions have been delivered at no cost to the Council or their residents.”
AEC are already working with a number of other local authorities where they are looking to achieve similar results and have identified many further opportunities for rolling out the savings further under the EEC scheme.
